A passionate and charismatic sales executive, Derek brings over 25 years of success in healthcare sales—primarily in diagnostics and laboratory. Derek and his teams are at their best when delivering novel solutions that dramatically improve the lives and care of patients, while driving improved clinical outcomes, operational efficiencies, and financial performance for healthcare organizations. He is known for leading high-performing teams, selling complex and differentiated solutions, and turning visionary strategies into results-driven sales execution across diverse healthcare markets.

Derek began his diagnostic sales career at Siemens, where he became a top national performer and multi-year President’s Club winner. He went on to play a key leadership role at LABSCO, launching and scaling the national molecular specialist team with triple-digit growth. Following LABSCO’s acquisition by McKesson, he stayed on and held multiple VP of Sales roles, overseeing national teams across the areas of Molecular DX, Microbiology, Infectious Disease, and Antibiotic Stewardship. He led execution of exclusive partnerships with top diagnostic firms like Cepheid, BioFire, bioMérieux, and Qiagen, and in 2020 directed sales training and sales execution of McKesson’s $1B+ respiratory portfolio across the 1,500+ sales professionals/leaders of the Medical-Surgical Division.

After spending some time in the startup/private company world focused on DX/SaaS/lab services, Derek reunited with a few former LABSCO collegues in 2023 to co-found Aqueous, a healthcare startup focused on bringing diagnostic solutions closer to patients through integrated delivery models and technology-enabled channels.

Derek holds a BA in Marketing and an MBA from Mississippi State University.
